What To Look For In A Professional Writer

If you do a search on Google, you will find thousands and thousands of results for professional ghostwriter services and article writing services. What are they really? In simple terms they are writers who will write content, reviews, press releases, articles and more for anyone who needs it. But beware, there are way too many people out there who claim to be professional writers yet have no educational experience to back up what they claim.

To be a professional article and ghostwriter, you have to have a very firm grasp of the language you are writing in. Meaning someone from India isn’t going to be able to write quality professional content in English and vice versa. Also passing English in high school with an A+ doesn’t qualify you for knowing how to write professionally. Professional writers will have had several writing courses through higher education centers such as Universities and Colleges. Before hiring an article or ghostwriter, don’t hesitate to find out what educational experience they have in writing.

There are many things to keep in mind while choosing someone to hire for your writing needs. The person should have the educational experience to be a professional. They also should be able to write over any topic and in any style that you want. Often you will find writers who say they specialize or only write for certain topics. In other words, they know that topic well and are not able to do research affectively to write for other topics. Also, run away fast from anyone who mentions using any software for writing articles. Articles written with software are very jumbled and make little or no sense.

If you want to hire a writer for SEO purposes, make sure the writer understands how to write with proper keyword density. You can find someone who is able to write wonderful over any topic, but when you ask for articles with certain keywords included with a set density, the articles come out sounding very forced instead of free flowing and natural.

When searching for an article or ghostwriter, do your homework. You might be tempted to go to one of the many websites that have thousands of freelance writers willing to take on your project for an unbelievably low price. This can be great if you happen to find one of the newer members of the website willing to take a lower price to get them started. But you will find more times then not that the people bidding on your project are unable to write or communicate in fluent English. So you might only be paying $1 per 500-word article, but you will end up having to spend a lot of time editing the articles to make them readable or for them to even make sense. True professional ghostwriters and article writers charge anywhere from $0.03 a word and up.

Take your time when searching for a writer. No matter what it is that you need written, it is important to you and should only be handled by a professional. Ask to see samples of the writer’s work and educational experience. Most professional writers online will have samples of their work that they can show you. And last but not least, trust your instincts when hiring a writer. If you have any doubts about a writer, move on to the next one.

You made your point! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

In any SEO campaign, having a professinal writer will make the campaign easy for the obvious reason that we need someone to write about the product or service that we are offering. True that there are so many writers out there claiming that they are professional but unfortunately after how many trials failed to deliver the service promised. Anyhow finding good writers is a gold mine ina way that he/she will greatly help in the success of the whole marketing campaign. We have a good wedding favors writer working for our company.

Yes, I have found way too many “professional writers” who were not what they claimed. When hiring a writer for writing content and articles for my customers I am very picky which makes it very harder for finding one. In the end it is worth it though. I have a few writers on my staff, but they know that I only accept the best from them and they always provide it. Congrats on already having a great writer, never forget how rare they really are. :)

    3. Thanks for the great post. I was looking for a freelance writer and used eLance. That was a big mistake. All I got was about 20 responses that all looked the same. How can you tell the good from the bad? Not an easy task. Your advice hit the spot.

      Your welcome,
For professional writers, the freelance services can be a nightmare. We are repeatedly passed by for someone who can write for pennies on the dollar. And unfortunately, most of those who pick the cheaper less qualified writers are the ones who also will have this huge list of expectations that they could never get from those writers.
